Analog Film Projects

Home

When I moved to America in my freshman year of college, I thought about the concept of home for the first time. You never really think about something you always had for granted until it is not there anymore. For this project, I wanted to explore this notion more.

As someone who has a lot of international friends who come from very different backgrounds, I wanted to hear about their experiences. So for this film, I interviewed them about what “Home” means to them and had them answer in their native tongue. We listen to their responses while seeing imagery of American landscapes and houses in cities and suburbs. It was filmed with a Bolex, 16mm color negative film.

Dear Daisy

“Dear Daisy” was my first project working with analog film in my sophomore year of college. It was shot with a Bolex, in black and white 16mm film, and edited on a Steenbeck.

Learning how to work with film with such a fantastic professor as John Gianvito was a marvelous experience, and being able to work with such talented people as Anastasia and Mia made the experience of making this film even more fulfilling.
